Prime Minister Lee Han-Dong announced Monday his plan to officially visit Russia for three nights and four days.

PM Lee's visit to Russia is the actualization of the agreement made at the Korea-Russia Summit in New York last month, and many expect it to become a start of a new bilateral cooperation between the two nations on the anniversary of 10th year since establishing ties.

Lee will meet Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov on Oct. 10 to discuss the establishment of Nakhodka industrial park and natural gas development in Irkutsk. They are also expected to sign an agreement for resource sharing.

Lee will make a courtesy visit to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Oct. 12 to discuss the policy toward Korea and bilateral cooperation for the stabilization of peace on the peninsula.

Russia has expressed it hope to discuss various topics including the Trans-Siberian Railway reconnection, the trilateral economic agreement with South and North Korea, as well as the question of loan repayment and submarine delivery.
