President Kim Dae-Jung who heads the Millennium Democratic Party, and Grand National Party (GNP) president Lee Hoi-Chang will hold talks over lunch at the executive mansion, Chong Wa Dae, on Monday. Rep. Lee will present the opposition party's position on the development of inter-Korean relations and issues related to the separation of pharmacies from hospitals. President Kim is to seek the cooperation of the GNP in connection with the current worsening economic conditions.
The two parties agreed earlier to resume operations at the National Assembly in the afternoon after a recess of over one month to act on six bills, including one on financial holding companies and another on investment firms charged with corporate restructuring.
