Chinese Prime Minister Zhu Rongji will make an official visit to Seoul Oct. 17-22 at the invitation of President Kim Dae-Jung, Chong Wa Dae announced Thursday.
The Chinese prime minister is scheduled to attend the third Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) to be held in Seoul Oct. 19-21 and will also hold talks with President Kim. The two leaders will exchange views on a wide range of issues of mutual concern, focusing on developments in Korea following the inter-Korean summit and measures for bilateral economic cooperation to usher in the 21st century.
Premier Zhu is expected to meet with National Assembly Speaker Lee Man-Sup and Prime Minister Lee Han-Dong and attend a luncheon hosted by representatives of business groups, inspect industries and tour Jeju Island.
