South Korean women¡¯s basketball team won its first victory in the Sydney Olympics over New Zealand.

In the second match of the Group B preliminaries at the Olympic Park Dome in Sydney, Korean women basketball overwhelmed their New Zealand counterparts by employing a double post system of Chung Eun-Soon and Jung Sun-Min under the smooth game operation by Chun Joo-Weon.

Losing to the United States in the first game, Korea now records one win against one loss, and will meet Poland on Sept. 20 in a crucial match to determine whether to join the round of eight. The South Koreans had a close match in the early stage at 15-15, but soon began to overpower the New Zealanders as the trio of Chun Joo-Weon, Chung Eun-Soon and Jung Sun-Min returned to their original shape.

The Koreans lead 48-25 at half time for a comfortable victory.
