The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Korea and the U.S. would meet for a closed-door meeting on September 18 for a revision for the extension of range for Korea's missile capability.
A source in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the head of the North American affairs division of the MFA Song Min-Soon will meet the Vice Minister of U.S. State Affairs in charge of anti-proliferation to hammer out an agreement in some contentious areas which have not be resolved.
The missile talks, which began in 1995, have already agreed on the 300 km range set by the guidelines developed by the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR), but need final adjustment and revision.
