South-North delegations unveil accord

At the Shilla Hotel, delegations from North and South Korea that attended the first inter-Korean minister-level meeting announced a joint declaration that contained 6 agreements, including one on holding a second round of talks in Pyongyang August 29-31. The joint declaration also stipulated that future minister-level talks will be held under the principles outlined in the South-North joint declaration, South-North liaison offices will commence operations August 15th and an event will be staged overseas to commemorate the joint declaration sometime in August.

Both sides also agreed to cooperate in assisting members of the North Korean Communist Party in Japan to visit their homes and to connect the defunct Kyungeui railway line, which links the two Koreas.
