Gas stations which mix their authorized gasoline with non-authorized brands, through under-the-table cash deals, will face criminal charges along with the suppliers of said gasoline. In a move to crack down on such illegal practices, the requirement for keeping monthly transaction records will also be amended. Any retail sales over 20 kl, a much lower figure than the previous 50 kl, will have to be recorded. The amendments to the laws governing the gasoline refinery and sales industry were made on the 30th by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy for immediate enforcement.

Prior to the revision, the scope of culpability only reached the owners of the gasoline stations who mix their gasoline with non-authorized gas; a practice rampant in the industry. The revision has expanded that scope to include the supplier of the gasoline, through the application of the false advertisement laws.
