Legal measures regulating noise in living quarters like high-rise apartments and punishing minors that frequent bars or red light districts will be established within this year.

The government decided on these and other measures in a meeting hosted by Park Joo-Hwan, chief of the Ministry of Legislation, and attended by 39 chiefs of planning at central government agencies. The meeting was held to discuss the future of 1,359 sets of laws that have been marked for streamlining by citizens, central and local governments. At the meeting, the government decided to revise 840 laws, subject 62 to further review and leave 456 untouched.

The government policymakers also decided to come up with additional legislation to discourage foul language and obscene material in cyberspace
