Prices in Seoul rank world's 14th highest

Consumer prices in Seoul were revealed to be the 14th highest among the world¡¯s major ities. The Japanese capital of Tokyo lived up to its notorious name once again with the orld`s highest prices.

According to a survey of consumer prices in 127 cities around the world released July 19 by EIU of the U.K., Seoul moved up 22 spots from 36th in 1999. With Osaka and Hong Kong occupying the second and third places, respectively, major Asian cities swept the higher

ranks.

The strong yen significantly influenced the famously high prices in Japanese cities.
