At the Seoul World Dance 2000 event, which will start on the 26th, a "Dance Market" will be set up for the first time in Asia.

From the 27th, Asia Dance Market will be staged in rooms 104 and 105 of the Korean National University of Arts in Seocho-dong. In one room, sample performances will be presented every 20 minutes for `buyers` such as theatre art directors and planning directors. In the other, a booth will be established to provide additional information and contract consultations on performances that have received the thumbs up.

A total of 31 teams will be participating in the event, including 6 foreign troupes such as Japan`s Ishii Kaoru & Tokyo Dance Theater and the U.S.`s `Jin-Wen Yu Dance`. The remaining teams are Korean and include `Universal Ballet` and the `National Ballet Company`. 4 Teams will not stage performances and will only market themselves through video tapes and other visual materials. The participation fee has been set at around 300,000 won, and 10 giants in the performance arena, such as the Artistic Director of Biennales de Lyon, Guy Darmet, and the Joyce Theater`s director of Programming, Martin Wechsler, will be attending the event.
