President Park Geun-hye will speed up with reshuffle the presidential office of Cheong Wa Dae and organization of a special presidential aide group. The announcement comes after her approval rates fell after her New Year`s press conference on January 12.

In presiding the Cabinet council meeting at Cheong Wa Dae on Tuesday, President Park said, "I will seek national affairs collaboration with political parties by forming a special aide group to expedite the three-year economic innovation plan," adding, "Cheong Wa Dae will be partially reshuffled to raise work efficiency, while carrying out a modest reform of some government agencies, including appointing a new maritime minister position that remains vacant."

Personnel reshuffle talks will likely speed up following President Park`s remarks. While it was expected that the reshuffle will be executed in late next month, which marks the end of second year in office of President Park, it is highly likely to be done in early to mid-next month ahead of the Lunar New Year`s holidays.

On the recent child abuse incident at a daycare center in Incheon, President Park said, "It is deplorable that these incidents are not eradicated even as massive fiscal spending of 9 trillion won (8.3 billion U.S. dollars) are poured every year," adding, "Related government agencies should closely collaborate to root out child abuse crimes."
