Apple CEO Steve Jobs used twisted facts and an erroneous quotation when he unveiled the company’s new iPad Wednesday, Fortune magazine said Thursday.

Seth Weintraub, the magazine’s blogger specializing in IT, said in an article titled “Steve Jobs` reality distortion takes its toll on truth” that he was embarrassed by Jobs` unfounded claim that the iPad 2 has "the first dual core to ship in volume.”

Weintraub said Dell’s tablet PC Streak 7, which he tested in January, has a dual core and Motorola’s XOOM also has the same dual core processor.

On Jobs’ comment that the iPad controlled 90 percent of the global tablet PC market last year, Weintraub said, “Apple would have needed to sell 3.2 million more to reach 90 percent of 2010`s tablet market share against just Samsung alone.”

“I have a lot of respect for Steve Jobs and Apple`s products. It`s just a shame that all the truth-bending destroys the keynotes."
