The North Korean ice hockey team will travel to South Korea on the East Sea Road and through a South Korean immigration office on March 2. This will be the first time in history a North Korean sport delegation has entered South Korea via land.

Gangwon Province announced yesterday that 37 North Korean athletes led by Jeong Deok Gi, the president of the Korean Reconciliation Conference, will attend a friendly winter sports event between North and South Korea. Most of the North Korean athletes who will visit the South are members of the Railway Ministry’s athletic division.

The North Korean hockey team will play a mixed match against the South Korean national team on March 3 and play against South Korea’s corporate hockey team Gangwon Land on March 4.
