The IAEA’s board of governors meeting to discuss Korea’s past nuclear experiments will be held on November 25 (local time) in Vienna, Austria.

The two-day meeting is expected to determine whether Korea’s case should be referred to the United Nations Security Council.

The Mainichi Daily cited IAEA sources as saying on November 24 that instead of being referred to the U.N. Security Council, Korea’s case is likely to be concluded with a “chairman’s statement” to express regret. The report added that the Korean government is calling for a “chairman’s summary,” a weaker form of the statement.
