A red-callared dove vag, a bird which was seen only four times in Korea, has been photographed. Kwak Ho-Kyung (Euiwang City, Kyungki Province) photographed a male red-collared dove vag in a group of doves on 17th in Chungsuman A district, Hongsunggun, South Chungchung Provice. After it was first discovered by a Japanese scholar in March, 1928 in Myungchon, North Hamkyung Province, the red-collared dove vag was observed in May, 1945 in Yongampo, North Pyungahn Province, June, 1993 in Chuja Island, and last month in Gageo Island. The red-collared dove vag is a rare bird that inhabits in Southern part of China and Indochina Peninsular. Only very a small number of them remain now. Its size is about 23 cm long, 10 cm shorter than a wild dove, a black wood pigeon, or a rock dove. Its color is mainly dark brown and female is even more darker than the male. There is a thin black horizontal line behind of the neck.
