South Korean President Moon Jae-in is on track to realize regulation reform to the fullest. On Friday, he made a field visit to an event, which was organized to vitalize the data economy by putting personal data into better use. Previously, he attended other two gatherings regarding medical devices and Internet-only banks.

At Friday’s event, the president called upon the National Assembly to expedite the passing of relevant bills, addressing that those at the forefronts have high hopes of regulation revamps.

The government is considering a revision to the Personal Information Protection Act so that businesses can use personal data, whose owner is not identified, without any consent.
