Korea Speed Festival to kick off in Yeongam

The second round of the 2013 Korea Speed Festival, the largest motor sports championships in the nation, will be convened on Saturday and Sunday at Korea International Circuit in Yeongam County, South Jeolla Province.

According to the festival’s organizing committee on Friday, a total of 71 vehicles will participate in the second round of the 2013 festival, including 22 cars in the “Genesis Coupe Championship,” a professional auto racing class. In the Genesis Coupe 10 race, the supreme class in the event, motorist Jeong Ui-cheol (Seohan Purple Motor Sport), the winner of last month’s race, will vie for championship with Choi Myeong-gil (Solite Indigo), who won the overall championship in the festival for two consecutive years.

The 2013 Korea Speed Festival is sponsored by The Dong-A Ilbo, its affiliate Channel A, Hyundai Motor, Kia Motors, Korea Shell Oil, Sungwoo Automotive, Seohan, Hyundai Mobis, Hyundai Fire & Marine Insurance, Daesang, and Hyundai Glovis.
