K-pop group Girls` Generation to release album in France

K-pop band Girls` Generation will release an album in France.

SM Entertainment, the group’s management agency, said Tuesday that the Girls` Generation will release its album “The Boys” Monday through Polydor, a French subsidiary of Universal Music Group.

“Girls` Generation has won recognition for its potential through joint performances of SM Entertainment’s singers in Paris last year,” the company said, adding, “Starting with the release of the French album, it will expand activities in the European market.”

Girls` Generation released "The Boys” in the U.S. last month. The group appeared on “The Late Show with David Letterman” of CBS and “Live! With Kelly” on ABC to promote its album. The Wall Street Journal carried an op-ed piece that praised the English proficiency of Girls` Generation members, and presented a positive outlook for its success in the U.S.
