A speed boat from the Korea Coast Guard and a boat from Japanese maritime police conduct Wednesday a joint search and rescue drill in international waters 29 miles (46.7 kilometers) to the east from Taejongdae Observatory in Busan. The drill was organized to enable coast guards from the two nations to jointly cope with a marine disaster. The exercise was conducted through designating search ties followed by mock rescue operations.
