Lhasa, the capital and largest city of Tibet, also known as the "Roof of the World," is covered with snow on Wednesday. In front of the holy Potala Palace, Tibetan Buddhists practice religious meditation and prayers known as "casting the five limbs to earth." Pilgrims make a religious tour to the holy city by kowtowing once for every three steps made on their long pilgrimage. The Buddhists prostrate and worship according to three Buddhist doctrines referred to as the Triple Gem of Buddhism, the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha.
