Port Opens

Busan New Port, which hopes to become the logistics hub of Northeast Asia, greets two container ships from UASC, a Kuwait shipping company, and a container ship from Hanjin shipping on its first day of operation yesterday. The port has 172 cutting-edge cargo handling devices, including the world’s largest pier crane. The port is expected to compete with China`s Yangshan Port, which opened in last December, for the title of regional logistics hub.
