Ruling party lawmakers earned more than a 60 percent annual return on their investments in installment-type funds.
Fourteen lawmakers of Sae-mo-saek, a group of lawmakers who participated in student movements in the 1980s, have operated 45,735,000 won in installment-type funds since November 2004 and have gained profits of 15,380,000 won, according to lawmaker Song Young-gil who is a member of Sae-mo-saek.
Sae-mo-saek donated six million won of the profits to the Community Chest of Korea.
According to Song, President Roh Moo-hyun also made more than 20 million won in profits after he invested 80 million won in installment-type funds last July.
