The National Association of Mayors (NAM) announced on November 12 it will file a petition to the Constitutional Court regarding the comprehensive real estate tax that is being pushed by the government and the Uri Party on the grounds that it is a violation of the Constitution.

President of NAM Kwon Moon-yong (Mayor of Gangnam-gu, Seoul) said at a press conference held at the National Assembly on November 12, “One hundred ninety cities/counties/districts out of 234 cities/counties/districts issued a statement against the establishment of the comprehensive real estate tax, and the results from two public-opinion polls reveal that 85 percent of the respondents are against it.”
