STX Shipbuilding Awarded $350m-worth Contract

STX Shipbuilding won $350 million-worth shipbuilding contract for petrol carriers. The company said on Jan. 6 that it won the largest-ever order for petrol carriers from U.S.-based B+H Company to build 12 petrol carriers of 44,000DTW scale.

The first vessel will be delivered to the ship owner in the second quarter of 2005, STX explained, equipped with a double-layer structure to prevent spill incidents.

Meanwhile, STX Shipbuilding added that it plans to get listed on the Seoul Stock Exchange later this year.
