XBOX, video game player of Microsoft (MS) will be launched in a domestic market on December 23. Online Arcade PC game has led the domestic game market. It must compete with Play Station 2 of Sony Computer Entertainment Korea (SCEK) which is the leading firm.
Visited for a publicity of XBOX, a director (picture) of sales development division, MS said, The demand will be of small quantity but we will concentrate on finding the market. He analyzed that the Korean population is 1/5 level of US but the market potentials is similar to US.
The video game player must be largely sold because Korea has higher information heat over US. However, there must be the time to be familiar to enjoy the video game because Korea has a different entertainment method from US.
MS will allow many consumers to make contact with XBOX through various offline events. Also, it maps out a strategy for giving satisfaction to gamers as the game title is launched in Korea and US & Europe simultaneously or it will launch the new game firstly in Korea.
MS thinks that once the gamers start to recognize it, the market will come to mature and it will be popularized.
