President Kim, Why Doesn`t He Apologize Personally?

`Indirect apology`, which President Kim Dae-Jung asked through the Chief Presidential Secretary, Park Sun-Sook with regard to his sons can get criticism, `isn`t he trying to overcome the situation easily?`

If he thought that he could calm people`s mind by such `indirect apology`, is a big misunderstanding.

The current situation is that suspicion of illegal compromise by people close to the highest power, which could happen in Chosun dynasty or dominant regime only, are raising people`s furiosity.

Nevertheless, if President apology `indirectly` through spokesperson is like that, then he doesn`t know people`s mind at all or he ignores people`s mind thoroughly.

President Kim took the lead in criticizing and demanding investigation of Mr. Hyun Cheol, son of former President Kim Young-sam during Hanbo scandal, five years ago.

If his stance was right at that time, could people understand the attitude of President Kim who kept silent and apologize `indirectly` on matter of his sons.

President Kim said that he will concentrate on current national affairs such as World Cup, economy, relationship of the North-South, fair election, etc.

However, if President Kim respond negatively to suspicion of compromise of his three sons, although he is devoted to national affairs, he can`t attract people`s support.

If people turn their back like this, effective completion of term might be difficult.

President Kim should apologize from his heart in order to have thorough investigation of the prosecution.

Cheong Wa Dae stated, “as President Kim`s indirect statement can exert indirect influence on investigation of the prosecution, that is why we don`t do it”, however, it is wrong judgment.

On the contrary, `indirect apology` raises questions on President Kim`s consciousness and it can operate as speechless press to investigation of the prosecution.

Then the prosecution might try to read only Cheong Wa Dae.

President Kim doesn`t have to consider matter of sons politically, it is our judgment.

Apologizing to people in person is the right order to solve out the problem.
