The Seoul Public Prosecutors Office, which is reinvestigating the `Jin Seung-Hyun Gate`, will finish investigations into questions about Mr. Jin`s campaign funds. The Prosecutors office is planning to summon politicians and others who may be connected to the case at the beginning of the new year.
The Prosecutors office plans to summon the person in charge of account records and campaign fund management reports for MDP member Huh In-Hoi who received 50,000,000 won from Mr. Jin.
They will also summon MDP member Kim Hong-Il`s assistant to find out the circumstances surrounding the money offered by Mr. Jin and Chung Sung-Hong of the National Intelligence Service, which Representative Kim refused to accept.
The Prosecutors office will not, however, summon MDP member Kim Bang-Lim before January 12 when the National Assembly session ends. They had formerly confirmed that he had received 50,000,000 won from MCI Korea President, Kim Jae-Hwan, lobbyist for Mr. Jin, last year October.
Meanwhile the Seoul Prosecutors office arrested former NIS deputy chief Kim Eun-Sung for receiving 50,000,000 won from Mr. Jin and helping him evade the law.
