Kim Joong-Kwon, the Chairperson of the ruling New Millennium Democratic Party, returned to his office after one day strike yesterday. But the conflicts on the reformation of the party and the government between Chairperson Kim and Chong Wa Dae seems not likely to be settled down in a short time.
An aide of Chairperson Kim Joong-Kwon emphasized the urgent necessity of the government and party`s reformation, saying ``Chairperson Kim requested for the overall reformation of the party, government, and Chong Wa Dae at the regular meeting with the President on Aug 24.``
Chairperson Kim also remarked, ``the reformation has to be done whenever it is necessary. Some believe it is necessary, others say it is not. But it is certain that there are times when the reformation is necessary.``
Mr. Kim also expressed his dissatisfaction with the staffs of Cheong Wa Dae, remarking that ``the secretaries to President must support President behind the scene. They should not dictate the party`s administration.``
Cheong Wa Dae revealed its position that the reformation of the government and the party will be carried out at the end of this year or early next year after the general session of the National Assembly.
Park Joon-Young, the spokesperson of Chong Wa Dae, said that ``the time of the reformation basically depends on the decision of the President. The regular session of the National Assembly will begin pretty soon. So, I think the review on the reformation will probably be possible after the regular session.``
Mr. Park emphasized, ``the people are expecting a constructive regular session of the National Assembly, which deals with the crucial legislations for the welfare of them, it`s time to focus on the perfect preparation for the regular session of the National Assembly.``
