In relation to the controversial construction of the `Monument to the Three Charters of National Reunification` in North Korea two years ago, the Grand National Party (GNP) demanded yesterday that Minister of Unification Lim Dong-Won should publicly announce remittance of the aid, individual donators as well as the organizations.
Kwon Chul-Hyun, spokesperson of the GNP, said at the press conference that ``some of the organizations which were part of the South Korean delegates to Pyongyang donated money for the construction of the Monument in 1999, and the government also knew about this. The fact that Minister Lim allowed leaders of these organizations to visit North shows that he knew they would participate in the ceremony of the Monument.``
Kwon also said that ``President Kim Dae-Jung`s agreement on the lower level of the federal system at the South-North summit talk last year coincides with the three principles of the national unification. Based on this, wasn`t it the government that allowed the violators of the national security law to visit North Korea? In order to eradicate this kind of suspicion, President Kim should clarify his own view on the three principles of the national unification of North Korea.``
