Special panel for cyber gov`t to be launched

The government said this week that a special committee of government officials and private sector representatives would be established under the jurisdiction of the Committee for the Promotion of Government Reinvention to complete a cyber government by the end of 2002. The online administration is intended to enhance transparency.

The special group will be charged with working out and coordinating strategies related to the cyber government. A private sector representative is expected to chair the 15-member committee, consisting of vice ministers of government departments concerned (government administration and local autonomy, information and communication and planning and budget) and specialists drawn from outside the government.
