[From readers] Why does KT not give notice of service charge?

Beginning last November, if you make an inquiry about a telephone number by dialing 1-1-4, you can hear the announcement, ¡°If you want a direct connection to the inquired number, press No.1,¡± after receiving the information of the telephone number.

I used the services frequently. As they did not give any notice of the charged service, I thought it was free of charge naturally. But I belatedly learned that the service charge is 100 won. When using the service, you have to pay a total of 225 won or more per call, including the 1-1-4 information charge of 80 won, the service charge of 100 won for a telephone number connection, and a three-minute basic telephone charge of 45 won.

Customers, who used the service without knowing that it is a charged service, have to pay expensive charges. Korea Telecom (KT) should let customers know the fact at the time it provides the service.
