Jo Sung-Mo sells 5.5 million albums in past two years

A total of 5.5 million copies of singer Jo Sung-Mo¡¯s albums were sold over the past two years.

According to an announcement by the Korea Record Industry Association Wednesday, Jo`s last three records swept the top three places in the list of the top 100 discs sold in 2000.

Jo¡¯s second album, entitled "For Your Soul¡¯¡¯ and released in September 1999, posted sales of 2,047,152 copies, while "Thorny Tree,¡¯¡¯ issued in January last year, sold 1,599,111 copies.

His third album, "Do You Know?¡¯¡¯ issued in September last year, recorded sales of 1,968,967 copies. Jo`s latest disc is expected to become a "two million-seller¡¯¡¯ this month thanks to the popularity of the hit single "Pledge.¡¯¡¯

Fourth place on the list went to GOD¡¯s "Lie¡¯¡¯ album with 1,505,162 copies, followed by Seo Taiji¡¯s "Ultramania¡¯¡¯album, which sold 1,112,310 copies.
