New soccer coach Hidink arrives

"I am confident of upgrading the technical skills of Korean football," said Guus Hidink, new head coach of the national soccer team. Hidink, of the Netherlands, arrived Sunday.

He said he would do his best to improve the technical skills of Korean football.

He will fly to Tokyo for his first meeting with Korean players Tuesday and to watch the regular Korea-Japan soccer match on Wednesday. He will go to the Netherlands on Dec. 21, and return to Korea to begin his new job.
