World-class Korean soprano Sumi Jo, 39, will perform to congratulate President Kim Dae-Jung on his winning the Nobel Peace Prize during the awarding ceremony in Oslo, Norway.

The diva will attend the ceremony slated for Dec. 12 at the Oslo City Hall and will sing two to three songs.

She will also give a ¡°gala concert¡± with musicians from across the world at an Oslo theater the next day.

A performance planning company in charge of Jo¡¯s appearances in Korea said that she was invited by the Nobel Committee of Norway to sing in the event. Jo left the country Friday after attending the Peace Concert to commemorate the Seoul ASEM (Asia-Europe Meeting) and a concert marking the 10th anniversary of the founding of SBS.

She will give recitals in Kuala Lumpur on Nov. 11 and Nov. 13, and in Hong Kong on Nov. 15.
