North Korea and East Timor will send their respective high-ranking delegations to the annual congress of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) to be held in Prague, the Czech Republic, toward the end of this month, the Financial Times of Britain reported on Wednesday.
The two countries will participate in the IMF/IBRD congress in the capacity of observers.
North Korea and East Timor that were invited specially can attend the plenary session, but cannot participate in some committee sessions.
Officials of the two international organizations observed that North Korea will be well acquainted with the business of the two international organizations as its delegates will have chances to associate with the representatives from the member countries.
The British daily forecast that it will take some more time for North Korea to become a member country of the IMF and the IBRD World Bank, but it will be able to get unofficial policy advice from the two bodies even before it become a member country.
