President calls SOFA unfair

The current Status of Forces Agreement with the United States, as well as the proposed revision, contains clauses that are infringements of national jurisdictional sovereignty, President Kim Dae-Jung said July 19.

The president indicated his discontent concerning the upcoming SOFA revision talks.

In an interview with the July 19 Los Angeles Times, Kim further stressed that it was imperative to work out a fair SOFA revision as soon as possible to prevent anti-American sentiments from rising any further.
