Lotte chairman pledges support of $9.28 mil. to Korea Ski Association

Lotte Group announced Sunday that Chairman Shin Dong-bin pledged active support for ski during his visit to PyeongChang City in Gangwon Province, a host city to hold the 2018 Winter Olympic Games from Friday to Sunday. Chairman Shin took the 20th presidential post of Korea Ski Association (KSA) in November last year. Culture, Sports and Tourism Minister Kim Jong-deok accompanied Chairman Shin in the visit to the ski stadium. At the meeting with national ski athletes and coaches, Shin said, “He will provide the highest level of rewards for medal winners to boost morale of the athletes and rewards for even the 4th-6th ranks, which is unprecedented among the domestic athletic teams.” In addition to this, the chairman plans to donate 2 billion won (approx. 1.85 million U.S. dollars) to the ski association in 2015 alone and financially support with 10 billion won until 2020.
