Kim Han Sol, the late North Korean leader Kim Jong Il’s grandson and a nephew of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, will enter the prestigious Paris Institute of Political Studies (IEP de Paris, or Sciences Po), the French daily Le Figaro reported on Monday.

According to the newspaper, the 18-year-old son of Kim Jong Nam will study European and Asian politics and economy at the Le Havre Campus of the institute, which is about two-hour drive from Paris. Most classes are conducted in English at the institution, and students study at Le Havre for two years, and take overseas study at one of more than 400 overseas schools in alliance with the French school or participate in onsite training for the remaining one year.

IEP de Paris, one of the French elite schools Grandes Écoles, is the alma mater of countless political leaders, including the incumbent French President François Hollande and former President Jacques Chirac. Fleur Pellerin, a Korean born-adoptee and the French minister of small and medium enterprise, innovation and digital economy, is also an alumnus of the institute. Earlier in May, Han Sol graduated from the United World College`s branch in Mostar, an international school in Bosnia.

“I have never met with my grandfather (Kim Jong Il) and uncle (Kim Jong Un),” Han Sol said in an interview with a Finnish TV in October last year. “I don’t know how he (Kim Jong Un) has become a dictator,” comments that drew keen attention. Le Figaro said, “Han Sol seems to be a psychological son of rapper Psy of Gangnam Style, rather than a dictator’s grandson, considering his trendy glasses and piercing.”
