“Kim Jong Un is the great successor to the Songun (military first) revolution equipped with both the arts of the pen and sword.”

The Japanese daily Tokyo Shimbun said Sunday that the ruling Workers’ Party of North Korea used a document for educating its members to pave the way for succession from Kim Jong Il to his youngest son, Jong Un.

A high-ranking official in Pyongyang is known to have used the document last month to educate rank-and-file members, who even have to memorize phrases praising the heir apparent.

The text said Kim Jong Un "received a revolutionary education and influence from the beloved supreme commander (Kim Jong Il) and his respected mother to equip himself with the dignity and qualities necessary for the great successor to the Songun revolution," according to the daily.

The document stressed the legitimacy of the succession process, saying Kim Jong Un has received thorough training to become a successor. It added, “Kim Jong Il put his heart into giving his son the qualities of an all-conquering great commander and an outstanding statesman who excels both in the arts of the pen and sword."
