Rally for Democracy in Myanmar

Myanmar’s democratization protests entered a new phase as the junta government forcefully suppressed protests on September 26, which reached a high point since 1998. Thousands of monks held pro-democracy rallies at the Sule Pagoda in the former capital city Yangon on September 24. Some 100,000 people, including 35,000 monks, participated in the protest that day.
