Soccer Star Preparing for Divorce

French soccer star Thierry Henry (age: 30, FC Barcelona) is in the process of ending his marriage with his wife of four years, former model Claire Merry (27).

The AFP reported on Tuesday that Henry filed for divorce at a court in London, England. If the couple gets divorced, Henry could pay the most divorce compensation ever among soccer players. Henry’s wealth is appraised at 50 million dollars (approximately 46.9 billion won). Barcelona pays him 240 million won per week.

It is speculated that Merry will receive a respectable part of his wealth. The couple reportedly agreed to observe six weeks of separation and accept the divorce if neither party disagrees. Ever since Henry transferred from Arsenal of England’s premier league to FC Barcelona of Spain’s Primera Liga, the couple has lived separately.
