Tennis Stars Hingis, Stepanek Break Up

The famous tennis star couple, Martina Hingis (26, Switzerland) and Radek Stepanek (28, Czech Republic) announced their break-up recently.

Stepanek, who is ranked 60th in the world, was defeated by the world number one ranked player Roger Federer (Switzerland), 0 sets to 2 (6-7, 2-6) at the quarterfinal match of the ATP Tour Roger Cup. After the match, he announced through his spokesperson: “I broke up with Hingis. We’ll remain good friends.”

The reason for breakup was unannounced.

He has been friends with Hingis, who was born in the former Czechoslovakia and migrated to Switzerland as a child, since they were both junior players.

He asked Hingis to marry him in last November in Prague with a diamond ring, and Hingis announced their engagement wearing the ring in a press conference in December in Australia.
