In Turkey, Pro-Islam Party Regains Power

In Turkey’s general elections, which attracted much attention for the fight between religious and secular parties, and where a pro-Islamic ruling party and its secularist opposition party fought, the ruling party won a victory. Supporters of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) are waving flags in Ankara, Turkey, in celebration of the victory. The AKP will govern the country for five years, winning 340 seats out of 550 (46.8% of all votes).
