Figure-skating “fairy” Kim Yeon-ah received a windfall.

Yesterday, Kim signed a sponsorship contract with Kookmin Bank in Seoul. Under the agreement, she is to receive thirty thousand dollars every year from the bank. Late last year, she first showed up on TV commercials for the bank.

In return, she will wear a training suit with the bank’s logo. She will also retain the bank as her asset manager.

“All your supports have helped me concentrate on my training. I am happy, and I will make you happy in the next Winter Olympics,” says Kim.

She had been in Canada for training purposes for the last two months. In Canada, she tried various forms to a new set of songs in preparation for the upcoming international events.

“I have completed a new choreographic routine and I am getting used to it. I am also building up my strength. I need to stay strong through the entire show. English has also become part of my daily life, too. Now, my back is OK. I have no problems,” says Kim.
