On the 70th anniversary of Korean marathoner Sohn Kee-chung`s Olympic gold medal victory in Berlin in 1936, a statue was unveiled in Seoul Plaza in front of Seoul City Hall on August 9. The statue that captures the decisive moment of his approaching the finish line reflects his spirit and determination that woke up the pride of Koreans under the Japanese rule.
