Auschwitz Visit

Pope Benedict XVI, during his trip to Poland, visited the Auschwitz concentration camp last Sunday. After mourning for victims, the pope is walking into the front gate, above of which there is message board saying, “Work makes you free” in Germany (Arbeit macht frei). Pope Benedict XVI’s visit drew a great deal of attention because he was a member of the Nazi youth organization in his teens and was recruited by the Nazi army in his youth.
