Paris in Full Force for Bidding to Host 2012 Olympics... Winning City to be Announced Today

The 117th International Olympic Committee session to be held on July 6 in Singapore will decide which city will host the 2012 Summer Olympic Games. The announcement will have an impact on Pyeongchang, South Korea’s bid to host the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. The cities up for the bid are Paris (France), London (U.K.), New York (U.S.), Madrid (Spain), and Moscow (Russia). Paris, recognized as the frontrunner in the competition, is working for the bid by installing a carpet track on the square in front of the City Hall holding a “Paris 2012” sign. 1998 France World Cup hero Laurent Blanc, NBA player Tony Parker, and track and field medalist Marie-José Pérec are also in Singapore to be a part of the fierce competition.
