Pro-Japanese Activities By Koreans Will Be Included in Textbooks

Deputy Prime Minister for Education and Human Resources Development, Han Wan-Sang, announced that the government will establish the guidelines of the scope and standard of pro-Japanese Korean activists, and will include the details in the textbooks.

Deputy Minister Han made this statement in a written reply to Rep. Kim Won-Ung`s (Grand National Party) question of ``Do you have an intention to include anti-national activities sponsored by the pro-Japanese activists during the colonial era in textbooks?``

Regarding the issue of including the fact that Korea failed to remove the painful legacy of the colonial period due to the errors by the `special investigative committee for treason,`

Han also replied that the activities of the special committee are already contained in the textbooks. And he said that, if necessary, it will be included in the middle school textbooks as well.
