Crackdown on illegal fishing by Chinese boats

Six Korea Coast Guard patrol vessels apprehended 11 Chinese fishing boats and their crew for illegally fishing in Korean waters 83 kilometers off Korea`s west coast around 2:50 p.m. Wednesday. Korean maritime police and naval forces began a three-day crackdown Wednesday on illegal fishing by Chinese fishermen off the coast of Taean, South Chungcheong Province and Jeju Island. About maritime police and naval boats, aircraft and government fishing guide boats are being mobilized in the campaign.
