KT and KTF introduced an integrated service for wired and wireless Internet. KT and KTF announced on the 16th that they would offer “NESPOT Swing” service from the 17th, which is what “NESPOT,” a KT wireless high-speed Internet network service based on wireless LAN, and EV-DO service, a KTF 3rd generation mobile service are combined.

This service will be offered through a PDA for integrated service of wired and wireless Internet, which costs more than a million won.

If one subscribes for this service, he or she can use cheap wireless LAN service in the nationwide 8500 “NESPOT zones” where the KT wireless LAN is installed. In other places, he or she can have access to the Internet service using KTF EV-DO wireless data service.

Before the integrated service was introduced, one should have two devices for PDA for NESPOT and EV-DO service respectively to use these two services. To use the integrated service, one should apply for “NESPOT” which is based on wireless LAN, and its fee is 25 thousand won a month.

Yoon Jong-rok, a KTF Marketing and Planning Department manager said, “This new service will be a ‘win-win’ service which can make up for limited coverage of wireless LAN service and expensive fee of mobile wireless data service.”
